Jessica Carroll has extensive experience litigating matters involving general liability, premises liability, liquor liability, negligent security, construction site accidents, construction defect, and wrongful death, in addition to representing attorneys in legal malpractice cases. She has also handled sensitive matters involving minors in cases of sexual abuse, human trafficking, and other sexual misconduct.

Ms. Carroll is a talented and proficient attorney with more than a decade of legal experience in insurance services and more than fifteen years of experience handling matters related to human rights. Before joining O’Toole Scrivo, she was Of Counsel at an Am Law 200 firm in Morristown, New Jersey, where she handled insurance defense and coverage issues in various litigations. While in law school, she was a legal intern at the Seton Hall Civil Rights and Constitutional Litigation Clinic, where she represented litigants in issues emerging from the “War on Terror.”

Ms. Carroll is readily available and always responsive to any questions or concerns her clients have. She routinely advises insurance clients on claims relating to their insureds in litigations involving general liability, premises liability, liquor liability, negligent security, construction site accidents, construction defect, wrongful death, and legal malpractice. She also counsels minors in highly sensitive matters involving sexual misconduct, such as sexual abuse and human trafficking.

Understanding the uncertainties involved in litigation, Ms. Carroll routinely analyzes her clients’ potential exposure to liability by evaluating current liabilities against alleged damages with the hope of reaching an early and quick resolution through motion practice or settlement. While primarily focusing on indemnification provisions, coupled with her experience in handling bodily injury matters, she creatively minimizes her clients’ liabilities by interpreting contract language to establish viable defenses to mitigate exposure in each litigation. She is also well versed in valuing cases to stimulate early and reasonable settlements that comport with her clients’ expectations.
