Mr. Arleo concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, criminal defense, and insurance coverage law. He began his career as an Assistant Essex County Prosecutor and has honed those skills to develop a significant trial practice.
In civil matters, Mr. Arleo has obtained favorable decisions for clients in a wide variety of disputes involving professional liability, premises liability, commercial contracts, insurance coverage, and personal injury.
In criminal matters, Mr. Arleo has tried numerous cases in federal and state court to verdict obtaining favorable results for clients. Notably, he obtained a not-guilty verdict in a two-month money laundering case in federal court and successfully defended a client in a tax evasion prosecution.

- Won an acquittal for a Florida woman charged with money laundering after a six week federal trial where all remaining defendants were convicted.
- Persuaded federal prosecutors to abandon a tax evasion prosecution against a New Jersey businessman.
- Successfully defended a municipal police officer in a federal civil rights lawsuit alleging excessive force and false arrest.
- Won a breach of contract case demonstrating that his client did not wrongfully exclude the plaintiff from a commercial building investment.
- Won an insurance coverage case after a jury trial for an auto insurer that alleged false statements on a policy application.
- Obtained dismissal of a disability insurance claim for an insurer sued in an ERISA action.
- Won a trespass to land case after a week-long jury trial where his client’s home was flooded with raw sewage.
