Mr. Compoli is an experienced trial attorney in both State and Federal court.

Mr. Compoli spent more than twenty years in the private sector as a trial attorney. He has extensive experience in a diverse range of practice areas, including products liability litigation, dram shop litigation, professional liability litigation, labor and employment law, construction litigation, class actions, and higher education. He regularly appears before the state and federal trial and appellate courts and arbitration tribunals throughout New Jersey. He has argued before the New Jersey Appellate on multiple occasions.

Mr. Compoli is designated by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney, a distinction in trial advocacy bestowed on only 2-3% of all attorneys practicing in the State of New Jersey. His practice routinely encompasses a wide range of legal disputes focusing on catastrophic loss matters, industrial accidents, products liability law, commercial litigation, employment litigation, including whistleblower and LAD claims, defense of civil rights actions, defense of professional liability matters, including legal and accounting malpractice, premises liability defense, dram shop liability defense, and insurance coverage litigation. He has significant experience defending class action lawsuits through conclusion brought against New Jersey businesses and professional entities. He has litigated cases involving the enforcement of restrictive covenants in employment agreements and provides counseling to clients on preparing employee manuals. He represents both insured and self-insured entities and is an experienced appellate practitioner, having argued on multiple occasions before the New Jersey Appellate Division. He also provides counsel to corporations, universities, and major pharmaceutical companies, regarding rights, remedies, compliance, liabilities, and exposure in a variety of areas, including potential adverse employment claims.

In 2020 and 2021, Mr. Compoli served as Chair of the Food & Beverage Litigation Conference: A Look at Hospitality, Liquor and Food Liability, and has also served as a speaker/panelist for several years running. A sought after speaker, he lectures routinely around the country for clients and at continuing legal education events on topics including Contractual Indemnity and Additional Insured Analysis, Dram Shop and Food & Beverage Litigation, a Fifty State Comparative Review of the Law on Joint & Several Liability, Lessons from Recent Top Jury Verdicts, the New Jersey Seatbelt Defense, the Attorney-Client Privilege and Ethical Issues Confronting Claims Organizations and their Attorneys.

Before joining O’Toole Scrivo, LLC, Mr. Compoli was a partner at an Am Law 200 firm in Morristown, New Jersey.
